The addition of a historically detailed pergola and deck to this Amesbury bungalow created an inviting outdoor living space and a wonderful connection to the home’s garden. We enjoyed working with the owners and Riverview Builders, our partner company and contractor for the project, to incorporate sustainable building products and historical building details.

The project included converting an existing bedroom to a study and replacing the existing windows with large French doors leading to the new deck. The deck was carefully planned to work for entertaining, outdoor dining, and cooking.

Over the deck, a pergola with columns and rail systems matching the existing front porch create a seamless and well-balanced addition to the home. The decking is a 100% post-consumer material and the wood for the structure and pergola is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified. All paint contains no or low VOC (volatile organic compounds).
